Prescott Valley, AZ

Today, we said "Goodbye" to Farmington, NM and traveled to Prescott Valley, AZ, where we will be visiting with Kelly's Father.
We took an unusual route (1) because there was a massive crash on I-40 just west of Winslow (there were multiple signs about it even over 100 miles before we got there!) and (2) Kelly wanted to check out a rock hounding site just south of Winslow anyway, so it worked out that we needed to turn south there!
The trip was rather uneventful. When we got to the rock hounding site, there was a sign clearly stating that a permit was required to be there and you should otherwise, "stay off!" I guess too many people had read the same rock hounding book, so they posted a sign. Kelly just collected a few rocks along the side of the road (which is legal due to "right of way") and we got back onto our planned route, arriving around sunset, which was quite beautiful from this site:
