46 +So...  When we arrived Kelly spent some time talking with the park maintenance guy, Charles, who happens to be a big rock hound himself!  He gave us some tips on where to go as well as gifting Kelly with a geode from his collection!

48 +It just happened this this weekend, starting on Friday, was the annual "[[Lone Star State Dulcimer Festival>>http://www.lssds.com/fest.html]]"!  Some people were doing a jam session out front by the large firepit, so we went back to the trailer where Kelly grabbed some spoons and Richard grabbed his nays (nayat).  Sitting in on the jam session, we both played quietly off to one side and no one seemed to be bothered by the fact that we weren't the usual bluegrass instruments, if they even noticed at all!

52 +The next day, May 10th, we spent going to some of the places suggested by Charles.  One place was along a dirt road and there we found lots of rocks with fossils in them, just sitting along the road!  Next, we went to a road where it crossed a stream.

59 +This looked as though it would be more hopeful but, alas, the road actually had more!  Anyway, it was a very pretty location and Kelly spent many hours looking at rocks in and along the stream.

64 +When we returned to the campground, we had some dinner and then went to the festival to see what was happening.  We had been told there would be a square dance starting around 10pm and this turned out to be true!  It was really easy dances and they taught them before-hand.  There were many little kids joining in and it was great fun!  Yes, some mistakes were made, but they were being made by everyone all of the time, so sometimes it was a barely controlled chaos!  We all had great fun until midnight, when they called it a day and everyone went home!
