Finger Lakes State Park, MO
When we woke up this morning, the wind was making a lot of noise, but our weather station said it was in the 15-20 mph range and gusting up to 25-28 mph. The forecast along the route indicated that we could see gusts up to just a little over 30, but mostly it didn't seem out of line with what we have been dealing most of the trip so far. So, we brazenly packed everything up, hitched up the trailer, dumped all tanks, and hit the road!
Wind turned out to not be a problem really, only getting a little strong in a few places.
Along the route from Eminence to Finger Lakes State Park we passed the exit for "M J". We'll have you know, we don't live there and we didn't even go that way, so why they named it after us, we just don't know! Ok, I can't back that up! Missouri names their major roads after letters of the alphabet, so they have roads like "K" and "KK", etc. (We just hope there isn't a "KKK"!) (By the way, that "Taos" is Taos, MO, not NM.)
We passed through "The Capital City" of "Jefferson CIty".

Arrived at Finger Lakes State Park without any incidents or drama.

Got settled into our new camping spot (no water, electricity, or sewage), and went for a walk to look for arrowheads. We were told by others that they could be found here. Some locals in the campsite next door said to "go to the beach"! (There's a lake in the park which has a large sandy beach.) We walked around for a few hours and didn't find anything much. There was this nice sand castle there:
And there was a nice lake (with some people in boats from time to time), and there were geese.
That's pretty much the day! We came back to the trailer, fed the kitties, fed ourselves (with Kelly's' wonderful pre-made and frozen food, heated over the propane stove), and now we need to figure out where we should go around here tomorrow.
