We drove over 400 miles, from Clovis, NM, to Farmington, NM:

Fairly uneventful drive, which is always good.  Except, that is, for the highway between Albuquerque to Farmington.  That was terrible, full of potholes and up-down waves which seemed to many times create harmonics between the trailer and the truck, leading to a big bucking bronco!  Driving on the white line helped some, but not always.  Actually, we've seen this before in New Mexico and the kitties would like to write a letter to the governor about it, but they're going to need some help with translation!

(The trailer failure-de-jour is the propane detector, which has started blinking yellow, informing us that its roughly 7 year lifespan is over.  No big deal.  Of course, that model is no longer available, but purchasing a new one and installing it is trivial.  Amazon, here we come.  It can wait until we get home.)

So, we're staying at Paramount RV Park, which is bit more run-down than it appears on their beautiful website, however for 2 nights, it's no big deal.  Apparently, many RV parks around Farmington are full due to graduations, which are apparently happeng right now.  This park, with water and electricity, will do for 2 days.

This morning, when Richard called the RV Park, he was told, "Let me check...  I'm not sure..." and finally, "Yes, we have two spots available".  They then said we could arrange payment when we arrive.  We told them that would probably be around 6pm and they said that's fine, just give them a call when we arrived.  Then, we realized we hadn't actually asked about prices!  Calling back, the same person picked up the line and said, "This is Richard Johnson?  It's 30 per night."  😀  Richard replied, "Ok, yes, that was my first question, but I also need to know what methods of payment you take."  We settled on cash or check and were done.  We just though it was funny that they knew exactly why we were calling back!

When we arrived, Richard called them and we discussed the location of the two available sites, which were actually very obvious, being right in front of the office!  She said, "Just take whichever you want."  When Richard asked when we could get together to do payment, we finally settled on, "Just write the check for $60 [$30/day] made out to 'Paramount RV' and slide it through the office door letter slot."  That's it!  No tax.  We still haven't actually met anyone who actually works here! 😀
