Went from McDowell Nature Preserve to Carolina Beach State Park Campground, near Wilmington, NC.  The intent is to visit "Shark Tooth Island", where there are many shark teeth as well as fossils.

Arrived around 5pm and checked in with no problems.  Asked about methods to get to "Shark Tooth Island" and was given a pamphlet about Captain Charlie's tours.  Called Captain Charlie and asked about going tomorrow.  He said that's doable, but he's going to be going to the doctor for all sorts of tests tomorrow, so he referred us to his son, Captain Charles.  Talked with Captain Charles and worked out where we should meet him, etc.  We then went on a short hike down to the waterfront,

where we saw a nice sunset.

Tomorrow, we walk down this same trail to meet Captain Charles and go a "3 hour tour" of Shark Tooth Island!
