328 miles

We awoke this morning a little earlier than usual.  Kelly saw a heron out her window by the bed, so she grabbed her camera and captured it as it was taking off.

We had a nice breakfast on our picnic table within view of the lake.

Having gotten up a little early, we kept up the pace and actually got out 1/2 hour earlier than normal.  The rest of the day was spent entering Louisiana

and then entering Mississippi.

The drive across Louisiana was rather uneventful, just trees as far as you can see on both sides of the freeway for mile after mile!  We spent the time listening to an audiobook, which helped the time pass.

Finally, we crossed the great Mississippi River

and arrived at our Magnolia RV Park campsite just a few minutes later.

I must say, the guy who runs this park is really a hoot!  He has a non-stop humor and laughs at everything.  He's kinda fun and we got along just great.  I told him I needed to get some ice and was going out to the car to see how much I needed.  Suddenly, a guy comes out of the office yelling after me, hands me a bag of ice which he "didn't need"!  Apparently, he mentioned it to another camper who had just entered and he rushed out to give it to me.  Southern Hospitality!

Even though the place doesn't look like much, the space was completely level, the showers were clean, and they have trash bins spread throughout the site, so you don't have to walk far.  The pool was being refinished, but we weren't interested in using it anyway.  Overall, a nice place!

Tomorrow, onward to Lakeside Landing RV Park in Cropwell (with an "o"!), Alabama.  When I called for a reservation, I was kindly told, by the nice lady who was also checking people out at the time, "just come in and find a spot, you don't need to make a reservation, hun."  I mentioned that we could be arriving "late" (around 6pm or so) and was told, "we have over 190 spots hun, there's no problem."
