4 Well, we're on the move again!  We left my father and brother in Charleston, SC, and travelled a short 150 miles to [[McIntosh Manor>>https://mcintoshmanorrv.com/]], outside of Townsend, GA.  It's a small place where they rent out the manor house and have about 10 RV sites with full hookups, free WiFi, and cable TV.  Not too bad.

6 When we first arrived, we setup in our reserved spot at site #9.  We got all setup, hooked up, settled in, and then started wondering if all of the sites were in full sun, as ours was.  Going for a short walk showed us that site #7 was actually in mostly shade!  We decided that since we were going to be here for 3 days, it would be worth the trouble to unhook everything, reattach the car, and move to site 7.  We called the office phone number (apparently, there is no actual office - they do everything over the net and phone), and were told that moving to site 7 was fine.  They updated their database and we moved, then rehooked up everything yet again.  Lesson - always look at other potential spots before getting completely settled!

8 We pulled out our screen house and set it up just a little to the rear of the trailer, where we get a good breeze.

10 Later in the evening, we saw fireflies in the trees behind our site!  Just a few, flitting in and out of the trees.

12 We saw the grounds keeper burning some stuff just outside of the campground.  Later in the evening, the smell of smoke was overwhelming, so even though it was cool outside, we had to close all of the windows and turn on the AC in order to clean out the air and get to sleep.

14 It was very quiet and we both slept very well.

16 The next morning, we still smelled some smoke in the air.  Kelly went for a walk to investigate.  She found that the place where the grounds keeper had built the fire yesterday, was still smoldering and even had some actual flames, being kicked up by the stronger wind in the morning!  She grabbed the hose, which was right there and doused the flame and the entire area completely!  (We Californians are sensitive to fires left unattended!)

18 Having saved the campground, we went for a walk to the local hardware store, just down the street!  This was actually the first place we encountered where almost no one was wearing any masks at all!  We only saw one customer wearing one.  After that, we visited the local grocery store (Piggley Wiggley), just across the street from the campground.  Most people there were wearing masks, so I guess it's just a thing in the hardware store!

20 We now don't smell any smoke and it's a nice 78 with a good breeze while we're relaxing in the screen house updating this web page.
