1 So, the storm was pretty intense last night!  Around midnight, it started with what had to be hail and really high winds, plus the rain continued with only small stops throughout the evening and night!  We were expecting this much earlier in the day, but we were certainly glad to be safely inside the trailer while it was happening!

3 We had a nice long sleep (I, Richard, slept for 9 hours), and were very well rested by the next morning, when it was sunny and much warmer.  We had a nice breakfast ("which couldn't be beat!"), unhitched the car, and headed out to Lake Tawakoni State Park, while "Le Kitté" relaxed in trailer.

7 The State Park is on the opposite side of the lake from Lake Tawakoni RV Park, so we drove around, past the dam (which I mentioned previously)

13 Afterward, we made our way to Lake Walla-walla-bim-bam (er, Tawakoni) State Park, where we paid our $5 per person (not car, which was interesting), and drove in, parking next to one of the hiking trails ("Spring Point Trail - 1.1 mile) where they said we may see some Bald Eagles.  We would have stayed here for Saturday, but we couldn't get a spot.

17 After that hike, we made our way over to three other trails; Farkleberry Trail (0.5 mile), Red Oak Trail (0.4 mile), Osage Orange Trail (0.6 mile).  Trails were very muddy in some places, as would be expected after the big storm, but not too bad overall.

21 As we were leaving, we saw a dear crossing the road in front of us.

26 It was now getting close to sunset, so we headed back via circumnavigation of the lake.

30 There were lots of Texas Blue Bonnet flowers along the road:

35 Arriving back at our camp site, we found our kitty ("Farid") in good shape, having rested comfortably all day (probably sleeping!).  All of us had dinner (including Farid), and now I'm sitting here uploading photos!

42 Tomorrow, we cross through **all** of Louisiana (because apparently there's nothing worth stopping for there - meaning we couldn't find any decent campground between 250-300 miles of our trip and finally settled for Vicksburg, just barely across the Mississippi!)
43
44 So, at the end of tomorrow, we will definitively be in **The East**, having cross the Great River!
