Cropwell, Alabama

317 miles

Today, we got up a little early and actually got out early again.  This is beginning to become a habit.  We'll have to keep a watch on that!

Driving all of the way from the west border of Mississippi (right next to the river), through all of the state, and into Alabama, to Cropwell, just east of BIrmingham.  Just as in Louisiana, a fairly uneventful trip and once again the same endless forest on both sides of the freeway.  It was this way across the entire state.

Finally, arriving in Alabama

Farid is still not really liking car travel, but he's hanging in there.  Here's a rare moment of calm, when he's ready to be transported back to the trailer in his carrier.  Unfortunately for him, we were just getting gas.

We arrived at our campsite (Lakeside Landing RV Park)

On the end of the pier on the Coosa River.

We took our usual walk around the place and Kelly photographed a few birds we saw.

Heron or Egret, too far away to tell:

Since today was a full moon (with eclipse in some places), we used an app to find where the full moon would be rising over the lake.  We then positioned ourselves to take advantage of the view!

Tomorrow, we exit Alabama, breeze through Atlanta, and end up at J Strom Thurmond Lake (at a "Corps of Engineers" campsite) just north-west of Augusta.
